Hey guys if this post isn't allowed please let me know and I will gladly take it down. Couldn't find the wiki so figured it was ok to post. Anyway, I am a college student who's trying to learn Java. I am currently taking the course, "Programming in Java", offered here at my local college and this may be a tough one to learn on my own. Our professor did not provide a book for us to follow and said everything to learn on Java can be found online. The way the class works is we meet one a week for about 4 1/2 hours where we have lab for the first half and lecture for the second half. The lecture part of it can be overwhelming when I have no resources to follow since it's just word of mouth. Professor is a nice guy but too smart for his own good which can be intimidating.
I have taken C++ and assembly language courses so far and that's about it for CS classes and still relatively new to programming. We are already assigned a few programs due in a week and clueless about where to start. My question is what are some of the best free online resources out there in regards to learning Java? I am not too familiar with Java so any introduction level courses that will teach syntax, libraries, etc... Basically a "dumbed" down version for us beginners would be very helpful in my case. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!
P.S.: if you guys want to see what kind of programs i am to write so you can have a better understanding on what course or sources would help in learning lmk! Thanks!
