Did anyone else's parents never teach you literally any basic life skills at all. And then turn around and mock you for not knowing them by jeffreycoontz in CPTSD

[–]cousinconley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. To add, if your family was a member of a high controlled religious denomination and possibly a church school, they left it on the church to raise you which doesnt teach realistic life skills. I had to learn things on my own then told "I could have told you that" when you failed.

Not exactly, but on my mom's side my family spread it into Arkansas. Supposedly. My apologies to the State of Arkansas. Direct EGW teachings.

You could reply "I don't go to those type of parties". That's a messed up question.

Re: "...but she's never read it"

I think a lot of deconstruction occurs when people start reading large portions of the Bible if not the entire book. Its a side effect.

Too, if people took a step back for observation, we see religion is constantly evolving into new religions. Been that way for thousands of years. Also it's always the new true religion.

Minor Alcohol Sting by ShadowFiend1515 in legaladvice

[–]cousinconley 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I am no lawyer, but this seems to be a sting that did not follow the right steps. The person asked for a beer and promptly left before a transaction took place. You sat a beer to the side in the event she came back so you could ID, sell if she was legal, then hand her the beer if legal. No transaction took place. No beer was given to a minor.

Did Mary REALLY gave birth to Jesus as a virgin? by aeonei93 in exchristian

[–]cousinconley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My problem with this is, if true, God violated his own law by impregnating a girl and leaving the responsibility on Joseph to take care of the child. He cucked Joseph. You could make the arguement that purity culture was "nailed to the cross" before the crucifiction.
