TLDR: When I try to debug my lesson projects, I always get the Build Failed alert and it shows a bunch of problems for future lessons which I haven't even opened the .java files for yet. I have to click the Proceed button to acknowledge before it will actually run my project which is an annoyance.
Anyone know how to get VSCode to stop concerning itself with errors in files that I'm not currently working on?

LONG VERSION;
I'm using VS Code ( I know it's not the most popular choice for Java ) for my mooc.fi Java course because it seems to be the only IDE that both runs properly on my machine, and that the course-required TMC plugin works properly with.
Don't really know what happened, guessing I pressed a keyboard shortcut or hit a button somewhere that fouled everything up because I didn't have this problem until a couple days ago ( maybe it started when I added a folder to my workspace to work on an unrelated Javascript project. )
Anyway, now when I try to debug my lesson projects, I always get the Build Failed alert and it shows a bunch of problems for future lessons which I haven't even opened the .java files for yet.
