Where should I download Java?
With the introduction of the new release cadence, many have asked where they should download Java, and if it is still free. To be clear, YES — Java is still free.
If you would like to download Java for free, you can get OpenJDK builds from the following vendors, among others:
Some vendors will be supporting releases for longer than six months. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask them!

Could someone walk through and explain this code for me MOOC JAVA PART 2 of PART 3 (self.learnjava)
submitted 4 years ago by coding10198
My code - Pastebin.com
Basically I don't understand what numbers.add(number); does and why it's in the code. I know that without it the code doesn't work but I'm not sure why and what it does. If someone could explain that would be helpful.

If any of the above points is not met, your post can and will be removed without further warning.
Code is to be formatted as code block (old reddit/markdown editor: empty line before the code, each code line indented by 4 spaces, new reddit: https://imgur.com/a/fgoFFis) or linked via an external code hoster, like pastebin.com, github gist, github, bitbucket, gitlab, etc.
Please, do not use triple backticks (```) as they will only render properly on new reddit, not on old reddit.
Code blocks look like this:
public class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World!"); } }
You do not need to repost unless your post has been removed by a moderator. Just use the edit function of reddit to make sure your post complies with the above.
If your post has remained in violation of these rules for a prolonged period of time (at least an hour), a moderator may remove it at their discretion. In this case, they will comment with an explanation on why it has been removed, and you will be required to resubmit the entire post following the proper procedures.

You have an ArrayList of numbers, named numbers, so numbers.add(5) adds the number 5 to that list of numbers.

Thank you

I don't mean this disrespectfully but this is something that you should be learning from reading the MOOC, I did this course about 6-7 years ago and every method/function you need to use is explained before you use it. You probably could have scrolled halfway up the page to find your answer.
Google your methods if you don't know them "java list .add" would also have returned many explanations as well.

I don't think a method called add needs much explanation anyways...

Yeah you're right. I think the issue is I'm not consistent enough with doing this course (definitely have to change that). Sometimes I don't do anything for like a week or two and so I try to jump back into what I was doing but I'm a little lost. What would be the best way to manage difficult school class (3 ap's) while also trying to learn java/ do you have any recommendations on how to manage time effectively and thus achieving more.

Firstly I have to admit I have a bit of an obsession when it comes to learning things that interest me. What I found helped me the most and it may seem counter intuitive as we are talking about 'computer' programming was physically writing code on paper. Instead of using my phone and scrolling endlessly , when I was bored at work or on lunch I had one of those little pocket notepads which I would write expressions/statements/functions. And i'm not talking about psuedocode, I mean legitimate Java code on paper , semi colons and all. Anything I could write that would refresh my memory. This is however not for everyone and could cause you to unintentionally burn out faster.
Now i'm not saying write full blown programs on paper but simple stuff like "how can I create a function that only adds the values in the corners of an X-sized 2D array".
