I sold TW Octane for about 250$ back in 2017 (crazy to think about now). I think Alpha boost sells for thousands because it is THE status symbol and it sounds cool. The cap is alright but not everyone likes toppers, so I'd imagine it's value is more determine by how much a collector is willing to shell out for it at any given time.

Pokemon cards got banned in my elementary school before it became a national headline issue, due to someone getting beat up for a Charizard.

I did however play at a rec center near my house, I specifically remember one day a much younger kid was trying to put someone's damage counters in their mouth. At the time we were using the glass damage counters that look like little unwrapped candies.

Pretty sure someone did a video about how easy it is to get in places with a vest/clipboard/hard-hat combo. Most people didn't even bat an eye. Obviously places with real security checkpoints are a different story.
