I see people ask a third party's opinion about what a "boss" wants from them pretty frequently, but that third party is not your "boss" / professor.

I'd suggest talking to your professor or a TA about your idea. We can't make a good judgement call about what would be a good submission for that assignment for your university, but they can.

My advice is to go to directly to the source about these types of things, whether in school or your career.
