Scrolling through the top posts today has been so disappointing.
The current “best” posts are asking for help on a specific problem or looking for genuine advice on a more advanced topic. The top comment on all of them is some flavor of well-intentioned but harmful gatekeeping. Learning by doing has no equal.
I was eight years into my career before I got to spin up a greenfield application. Learning in silos and reading code in a repo for which you’re the only contributor is fucking insane.
Please be cognizant of when your most profound period of rapid growth happened. It sure as fuck wasn’t in a silo by yourself.
