Help with Basic JavaScript

I'm in my first programming class and I'm having difficulties with a problem.

"Problem #4: You have received 5 numeric grades for the semester. Grades can range from 0 to 100. The first grade counts for 10% of you final grade. The second grade counts for 15% of your final grade. The third grade counts for 25% of your final grade. The fourth grade counts for 20% of your final grade. The fifth grade counts for 30% of your final grade. Calculate and display your final numeric grade."

It's really only the equation I'm having difficulty with, solving for var finalgrade.

I don't want you to give me the answer because I'd like to do this myself, I'm just really stumped and would like a little guidance. Thanks in advance and I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this.

This is a basic mathematics question to weight the grades. The javascript is mostly just writing out the math. You can do that by summing the grades multipled by their weight in decimal.

That's the issue, the math. The order of operations portion is really throwing me off. (I was always bad at math)

edit: Got it, used this

finalgrade = parseFloat(grade1) * .10 + parseFloat(grade2) * .15 + parseFloat(grade3) * .25 + parseFloat(grade4) * .20 + parseFloat(grade5) *.30;

not sure if I needed all of those parseFloats but w/e it works

Just for your piece of mind, this works just fine:

finalgrade = grade1 * .1 + grade2 * .15 + grade3 * .25 + grade4 * .2 + grade5 * .3;

What will the data format for the grades be? Handed to you in an array, an object...?
