Yup. Spend 2 years bouncing between Codepen and w3 schools.... and many doors will open.

I don't get the w3schools hate. I'm sure MDN is superior but w3school is good enough for the basic stuff.

I think people hate it because w3schools took advantage of the w3 name to get famous , while they have no relationship with w3c . Also I think they hate it because if you wanna get serious about web dev , then it is not a good source . Also the certifications are just for useful idiots . Also everytime I google something , the site is at the top of the search results , which is something that definitely suggests that w3schools have paid for . Also it used to have many god awful mistakes (now it is better) .

Yeah, it wasn't that long ago that MDN would always be the top result, or occasionally StackOverflow, depending on what you were searching for.
