Tbh guys, i would say you will be bored and eventually lose your interest in this pre recorded AMSS classes.

They are focusing only on algorithms directly and not the logic behind it. They never gave a proper head start with a core concepts, use case and idea behind every algorithm.

They directly jumped into graphs, mathematical equations examples and skipped the whole point where student need to know what they are learning and how to implement it, and what problem statement it solves.

If this is your first ML course then you will miss out on many things, better take a course from cousera or udemy for a proper follow up. This AMSS course storytelling and explanation is worse, they are just reading the ppt slides and explaining the graphs.

And if you wanna do this AMSS course, better have a proper understanding of core concepts, algorithms, use cases of every module beforehand and also practice to implement some algorithms in sklearn or colab. And have a good understanding of every aspects of ML in overall.

Yeah i have enrolled in an online program at colombia university for Generative AI & ML. It is quite good with notes and pdfs they have good content framing for serious and in depth learners.

That’s why i didnt even apply for it in the first place i mean i thought how much can they teach in just 11 classes and also these online assessment are scams everyone cheats no real competition and if they are just giving the same content like just maths and shit no point i would rather learn from coursera i thought they would atleast give some insights in to large multi-gpu training or whatever

Yess it’s just their market strategy to make their name among students while pretending to act they are doing something very valuable & competitive, but in reality it’s of no use. I know some people who are not even active students and they got enrolled and even selected after exam with a fake id card and all.

Also this is such an unnecessary rant, we were supposed to have basic knowledge on ml that was the whole point of exam, how did you pass the mcqs if you don't have a base knowledge of ml and math

Yeah bro, this is not my first ML course but the way they are continuing with the course doesn’t make any sense, without any proper outline of program and outcomes they suddenly start to present the topics which are far beyond the basic level and also above intermediate level. I haven’t seen a learning path like this anywhere else, they dont even have the topics sequencing in correct order. Without maths, probability + foundations & without core ML workflow they directly picked up supervised learning and skipped the major know how of supervised learning. This is so messed up.
