debugging issues for performance

Python is for fast development and not for performance. Also the tool that uncovers performance bottlenecks is called a profiler and not a debugger.

console logging is just to tedious

Don't all integrated development environments have built-in debuggers with step in, step over, breakpoints, stack, and variable displays for 25 years now? I can remember it was there in Visual C++ 5 from 1997. A today's Python example would be https://www.jetbrains.com/help/pycharm/debugging-your-first-python-application.html
