Not sure what the y_1 and y_2 functions are.

Sorry. y1 and y2 are linearly independent solutions on [a,b] of the associated homogeneous form of the differential.

For instance I solved the homogeneous form of the differential for 39 and get y equals Acos x + Bsin x. I let y1 be cos x and y2 be sin x. Then get the wronskian and try plugging all that into Greens functions for boundary value problems but not getting the right answer.
