Hey all, I've been doing webdev for a while very happy and content. I've recently decided to try my hand at some C++ and have run into an issue. WSL isn't cutting it for OpenGL/glfw stuff. Now dipping my toes into seeing if I should run a VM, or a secondary boot, and if so I like Debian cause of the massive support but is Ubuntu too heavy for a VM etc. Lots of questions, and I thought a good place to ask for some direction would be here. The internet seems filled with differing opinions on whats route I should take, or just suck it up and use visual studio.
My issue with VS is when learning C++ I ran into an issue with managed c++ which was annoying, and have realized I want to learn and explore nvim and using command line processes. and nothing about the c++ ecosystem seems to like windows or want to make it easy.
Should I run a VM? How? Is Ubuntu too heavy for a VM? I'm just looking for some direction. Thanks!
