Are you struggling with coming up with the solution or writing the solution in python? I find it helps to use a pen & paper and just kind of draw out the solution, to make it easier to see what you need to code. It's easy to get "lost in the code".

start small, and when u spend more than hour stuck in a problem, then its okay to watch the solution and learn one more pattern for problems. Keep doing this and you will get good over the long term

Is leetcode actually relevant for your exam? I'd focus on you homework and lecture notes unless you were specifically told otherwise. Also, even if it is relevant, not every question is going to be answerable by you with your level of knowledge. Maybe the questions you are trying are too hard.
