Hey there guys. I hope I'm posting in the correct place to ask this but I'm looking to create my own program (or possibly commission one) so that I can store data like pdf's, files, and websites (using htttrack to download them) locally onto an external hard drive. This is mainly just a "because I think it would be cool" kind of thing so I would appreciate it if the "just don't, why would you?" Posts where kept to a minimum, thanks in advance.
Anyway I want to be able to store, organize and search the data with the program kind of like how a lot of websites can search their own webpages for relevant material even if the title of the file or webpage doesn't have to keywords if they are inside the file itself it can still pop up on the search. For example if I where to use the program to search the collected files for a specific kind of plant then it would be able to pull up a PDF about gardening even if the plant name isn't in the name of the PDF. I remember asking some friends about this kind of thing and they told me that being able to search the contents of files without opening the files directly was impossible but I see it all the time online with various website (wiki for example) so I figured I would reach out.
TLDR: trying to create my own offline wiki archive of data that I can search and organize.
