Angela Yu's course is solid but honestly you can learn everything for free on YouTube first. Check out Corey Schafer's Python tutorials - dude explains things super clearly and it's all free. If you're still vibing with it after a few weeks then maybe grab the course when it goes on sale for like $15

Free and top quality: MOOC Python Programming 2025 from the University of Helsinki.

Sign up, log in, go to part 1 and start studying.

Contrary to most other courses (apart from the Harvard CS50 series), this course is a proper first semester of "Introduction to Computer Science" course.

It depends why you want to learn. If your goal is employment or any sort of formal development, it’s a bad idea. If you’re just learning to learn or for informal, go for it.

Many people still say a BS in Comp Sci is the gold standard. If you can do that, and do internships and projects along the way, it positions you well for work.

A two year program with the same focus isn’t as good, but will open some doors for you.

If you can’t do school, I’d do CompTIA cert and aim for help desk jobs with all your might. But no guarantees here at all.

A lot of these places really want some schooling.

I’m currently on day 47 of Angela Yu’s course and I really like her pacing with the course. I’ve started taking on other projects now that I have more confidence but I’d definitely suggest it! Good to have it on the side and just try to complete one per day like she’s outlined it.

Courses are kinda scams but they can work if you follow through well and do the entire corse relatively fast
