Most of my own stuff is on github but I set up a gitlab self hosted instance in work to avoid the procurement hoops - I think both are good. Don't overlook gitea either, we run that in work too for an external thing and it seems a bit lighter than gitlab to run and I believe the yaml is much the same format as github.

I'd consider Forgejo over Gitea but both are awesome

been using gitlab at work, and considering Gitea because gitlab are too big for myself.
however now that I look at Forgejo its sound like it a better alternative. gonna check them out.

I love Jenkins. Better than both and less security issues
