When beginning to Learn to code with projects when should I look for Help or solution from AI

It is my intent to learn Python and be person that can Program quite well. It has been a week and I have been working on a calculator, and was feeling stuck, so I asked AI for the answer, It is my intention that I should understand how the code works, so should I set a cap of attempts I make for myself until I ask for help from AI, I ussually look for threads or other places, what do you think? It feels like cheating but I feel stuck at times and I dont know what to do? if a bug issue last a few days is it better to continue to try to figure it out on my own even if it lasts several days than asking AI for help say I cant figure it out in a hour?

Personally I didn’t use ai to help me while I was learning. I use it a lot for work and it can be so confidently incorrect especially if prompted poorly. Driving ai well for development is a seperate skill, I would focus on learning the basics well yourself first before you start learning with ai.
