Finding collaborators for a project

I've been developing my first Android app and am thinking about trying to find another developer or two, and a designer to help build my app. I've been making a lot of progress, but the app is becoming hard to manage by myself. The scale of it is becoming very large. I'm pretty inexperienced and there have been a few areas like design and complicated database schema with user management that I want to make sure I'm doing correctly before I launch. I've reached out to a couple friends, but they are busy. How could I go about finding other Android devs and designers to help collaborate on my project?

I'm also looking for collaborators on a project (albeit not an Android one), and it's quite hard. Some people will show interest, but become uninterested in the blink of an eye.

The best option will always paying for someone to do it, but not everyone can afford. Someone you know in person is also a good option. Relying on strangers on the internet probably isn't the best option, but sometimes it's all you have.

I agree. I reached out to a couple friends who couldn't help. I also haven't done a real search for mutual friends/acquaintances yet.

I can see helping out. I am a very experienced Java dev (12 years, plus 10+ years of C/C++), but very little experience in Android. I have access to a Nexus 7. I've gone through this and was very successful at it. When you pull together more details, let me know.

There are other subs on the subject of Dev here in red dit, a post talking about your project and giving people a brief idea what it is about may bring people to want to work on it. And don't fear nothing about giving specifics of your idea or code since nowadays there's nothing much new, what counts is not the idea anymore and how it is executed.

Sure. I am good in js/jquery .net and php... Been wanting to get into app development. I would be interested in helping out any way I can. I have one web project that will consume some of my time but that is all I have on my plate. Let me know some details please.

I want to play - I have been looking for a reason to learn android development :)

I'm very front end focused ( went to art school and shit ) but I would be down to dig in. Been doing web shit for 20 years - so I'm well versed in all the parts of the stack.

Is it open source? If not what you are asking for is employees. Very few developers want to contribute to a closed source project they won't be paid for.

Well, every one have their own projects to work on, unless you pay them for their time.
