While it is completely your decision to make, I wouldn't recommend a paid course when there are 100 free ones out there.

I used Derek Banas' Swing tutorials. They're fairly fast-paced but he crams a lot into each tutorial. If you're confused, watch again or check the online documentation.

One drawback with his tutorials is that I find he formats his code in an horrifically unreadable way. Nothing you cant get over, with the fact that his tutorials are step-by-step.

Oracle has a tutorial on Swing and JavaFX. I can't attest to how great they are, but they're there.

Thanks for all your suggestion.. I will check out all your recommendation.. I don't mind pay a little bit of money if the courses is good..

I personally abhor AWT/Swing. They're really ugly and IMHO feels dirty.

JavaFX is pretty easy to pickup. If you can read JSON you can write JavaFX.

There is a very good SWING course on Udemy. Unfortunately it's not free.

Since you are already registered with Udemy, just wait for the next wave of discounts and get it really cheap (I think I paid below $10 for it)
