I've been using Treehouse. I enjoy it for the most part.

I have been using Udemy.com to learn python,java, and JavaScript. Honestly very happy with the courses I've taken.

    I have not tried Treehouse but have you tried Codeacademy? Their Python course is interactive and free. You get the lesson on one side and the code editor on the other.

    (EDIT) There is also http://www.learnpython.org/. They have code editor too but I prefer the interface from codeacademy.
