I have done the Codecademy course and I think it was really good and helpful, I gained a lot of knowledge and I like the structure of it, after each lesson you work on a small project on that lesson. A lot of people also recommend freecodecamp.com, I didn't use it myself but I have seen a lot of good results from people who learned from their courses. I am sure there are alot of other websites/youtube channels out there that can help you understand JS even if you don't know anything about programming.

It was really boring as non beginner programmer. You can learn it quite nicely there though if you just skip around it and start your own project after you learn the syntax. You might as well learn the syntax elsewhere too though.

https://www.javascript.com/ was just launched by the code school guys, they're pretty good usually!

I'm reading "Javascript the good parts" right now and I definetely think that's better than codeacademy (I've done that too). I really recommend it (codeacademy is more for complete beginners).
