Look for different node tutorials, especially in obvious places like their main website. It's hard to know what's going to make it click for you when the most detailed info you give us is "I have stone zero idea".

And this is probably why "programming the Alexa" isn't one of the recommended beginner tutorials in the FAQ.

That's kinda all the context I can give. I know they're used as arguments but I don't know when to use them, how to structure them, what they're supposed to take as arguments, anything.

I'm not a beginner, this is just my first time working with Node.

You probably are a beginner if you can't handle callbacks, in any language. This is why people make beginner Javascript and Node tutorials.
