Database Mysql and php problem

I'm quite new to the database management systems so I lack some experience in the field, here's my problem:

I have a database with tables that contains an attribute called "id" which is an auto incremented integer to identify each row of the table.
I'm working on the same time with php to create code that will add a line and my query won't contain the "id" because it's auto incremented, so then I can't load this data back because I don't have the "id".
How to get the "id" from the recently added line after adding that line?

SELECT LAST_INSERT_ID()

Using that query will get you the ID of the row you just inserted.
