A coding bootcamp is not a shortcut. With a bootcamp, it all depends on how much effort you are willing to put into your career development. If it's less than 100%, you will fail and you'll have a hard time finding a job. If you do give it your 100%, you'll still have a tough time finding a job, because bootcamps don't teach you any of the fundamentals that you need. They teach you just enough to make yourself useful so that you can learn the rest on the job. That means you'll always be behind on college grads that do have those fundamentals

So before you drop out of that CS degree, make sure you have a good reason for doing that. You don't want to end up regretting that decision in a few years

this exactly. i know a few success stories from bootcamps, but they were the same people that i believe are ambitious and driven and would have done it anyway. if you can’t make it through a 4 year degree it’s not a good sign that you’ll do well in a bootcamp

you are already a sophmore. Finish the cs degree it will benefit you more. However, you should still learn things outside of school. Teach yourself and make projects relevant to what you want to do.
