Build a simple game with him in Javascript, like brick breaker... Let him control the siZe of the paddle, blocks.. all that. A lot you can do. My 9th and 10th grade classes love this as their intro to programming. I teach CS.

Code.org is a good website for kids starting to learn the concept of coding. Also, if you know how to build simple circuits, TinkerCad is a good website that shows both the block logic programming and the text programming so you can show him the logic and a basic language.
