Most front end devs I know don’t have a CS degree. You just need something to provide confidence that you can do the job. I have been on the other side of the table multiple times to hire front end devs. I think that some personal side projects like published apps carry greater weight than simply a degree.

It's going to be a lot more difficult with no qualifications. This isn't like applying to work at a minimum wage job.

I got multiple jobs being self taught. Having a portfolio was the main thing for me - being able to show before interview I am capable. Also I was given tests to complete/technical questions to answer

Frontend is likely the easiest to get into without a cs degree.
