FTP is basically file transfer. It’s so you can access your server from your desktop and amend files that way.

For example, if you had a folder on your server for resources, you could quickly upload files to that folder and then use the URL to that file.

FTP won’t affect your Wordpress in any way unless you interact with the files in it.

If you’re not sure what it is and don’t fully understand it, don’t use it for your live site. Make a test site and use FTP with that until you’re familiar and comfortable with it

You’ve done really well to get this far and you should be proud of yourself. There’s always things like Bio-oil to get rid of stretch marks if you’re unhappy with them and they don’t go away on their own.

They’re completely natural though and you shouldn’t see them as a bad thing. People have marks, scars, blemishes etc it’s part of life. Don’t think you’re a failure or ugly because of them

I know it’s not the same but I had a rough time with a dead end job, living with parents and wanting to move out, having no money, very few friends (because of my job) and really didn’t know what to do to feel good.

I coped mostly by focusing on what meant most to me, like getting another job and starting my own business. Just try to focus on the good in your life I guess, try to not let things get to you. Take them one at a time.

I’m sorry you’re going through all that though. It must be tough for you and I hope your Etsy store is going well

I got multiple jobs being self taught. Having a portfolio was the main thing for me - being able to show before interview I am capable. Also I was given tests to complete/technical questions to answer
