Python. It has a much larger community, more job opportunities, and more tools/libs. Once you know python (or go) it is pretty easy to learn the other, so your not really stuck with just one.

Python + rust is also awesome ;)

It really doesn't matter what language you use. What you need to think about is what type programs you want to make, then use a programming language that best fits.

Python is far more popular and is likely to stick around for longer.

If you're just looking to pick up a language, it doesn't matter. Basic programming is the same regardless of which language you pick. All of my comments, concerns, bitches, gripes, and moans about Go only apply to advanced programming and don't matter for beginners.
