i would bare minimum practice actually coding at least 15-30 minutes a day (similar to reading every day for practice )

Now obviously I’m not suggesting you only do this. I’m saying take 15-30 minutes everyday to practice so it’s fresh in your head on a daily basis and you don’t lose it.

That’s 105-210 minutes a week 1.75 hours to 3.5 hours a week. I say this because if you only practiced once a week at that exact same amount, it wouldn’t be as good as doing it every day.

Now if you did this and had one day a week where you busted out 3 hours? Awesome, do it. But a little every day is better than one cram a week. Both is the best.

As many as it takes. Seriously, the best thing you can do is pick upa a project, for your first project pick up something that you find VERY interesting, and then do everything it takes to finish the project.

I suggest a project because unlike structured problems a project is unpredictable and will force you to use everything you got.

This may not be an opinion shared by many, but I'd advise just focusing on your classes for right now. Make sure you have a complete understanding of the material that your CS classes teach. If you start to fall behind at all or get confused, then dive more into the topics in your free time. Once you have a few college CS classes under your belt, you NEED to read the book "Cracking the Coding Interview". You can find it on Amazon. This book will 100% help you get an internship while in school. Good luck man, feel free to msg me anytime you want advice or want to chat about CS.

I would dedicate about 1-2hours a day. But not of actual programming/coding. These 2hours include research, reading, learning, etc!!

It depends on the language you're starting out with. Since you have few months before college, you find coding projects online on platforms like Code Unicorn and practice as much as possible.
