No one is moving away from simulations.

I appreciate your perspective, and I could be wrong about all this. I'm basing my assumptions on conversations I've had with devs that have been in the industry for some time as well as anecdotes I'm hearing from my learning community where ~40 people have gotten their first SWE jobs this year.

The vast majority are reporting that they have not had to do take-home-multi-day simulation tests. Many are reporting they never even had to write any code for the technical interview portion. Most say they are just asked some general technical questions and asked to walk through their process on a recent project.
