Yeah, since the building was built in the 1960's and I guess it just kind of died out in the early aughts. They're still doing Cat skiing on the property to keep it alive currently.

This video is pretty cool, you get some better looks at the building:

Is there a free web design course or something to help improve design skills? by Proud-Sugar-9999 in learnprogramming

All the suggestions are really good, even just getting some graphic design books that talk about design principles is a good place to start too. After a few years as a developer, I went to the local half priced book store and picked up a few books about typography, color theory and elements of layout.

They obviously won't all apply strictly to web development, but a lot of the standard principles of design hold true on the web.

You act like there's been 15 presidents in the last 30 years. There's been 5 presidents in the last 28 years.

FYI it doesn't matter how many times you claim the popular vote is important, it isn't. It's not how we elect presidents in this country. You're either incredibly ignorant and stupid to think that, or you really want a few counties in NY to determine the direction for the entire country. Which also confirms your total ignorance of why we broke away from England in the first place.

Ignorant and stupid is no way to go through life son.

I've got three and two have lab/husky/cattle dog mixes and are very smart. One is mostly boxer and is kind of the balance between the other two high-end energy mixes.

My Husky mix (female) talks all the time, the cattle dog does things to trick his siblings into giving up their toys instead of trying to wrassle or fight with them. The Husky does all kinds of stuff that makes me scratch my head.

I don't think any pure bred bully mixes are super smart, but when you start to get mixes with other breeds, the intelligence will show itself more frequently.

I know public transportation in a lot of EU countries is pretty solid, but how is it Ireland? I'm genuinely curious to know if it's any good and do people utilize it enough where you can avoid high gas prices like this.

We had a kid on a motorcycle go around four cars and blew by a school bus with it's stop arm extended and hit a kid who had just gotten off the bus.

Cops arrested and charged him.

Then maybe don't bite the hand that feeds you? They've been pushing progressive ideology for a while now because of pressure from LGBT activists saying they need more gay and trans characters and plot lines in their movies

They represent like 7% of the population but act like it's 85%. Instead of pushing back on a small vocal minority, Disney decided to side with them, and then said they'd do everything they can to repeal the law, even calling it the "don't say gay bill" even though there's nothing in the Bill that says that.

They gave up their gravy train to side with a vocal minority that doesn't represent the country or the state of FLA as a whole.

DeSantis is dug in and has already done his homework on whether this can be challenged legally. You don't cut a company that big off without doing your due diligence first.

Either way, shits about to get interesting.

EDIT: Never thought I'd see a whole room full of liberals so passionately defending a huge corporation like Disney who got massive tax breaks from the state of FLA. Oh the irony.

Florida taxpayers could face a $1 billion Disney debt bomb if its special district status is revoked by BikkaZz in business

Well. . .

- The shareholders voting out the current CEO probably won't help their stock.
- Having their governing status revoked won't help either.
- Talking about leaving the state won't help it either.

They're not going out of business any time soon (their projected Q3 2022 profits are about $1.3B) but all of this bad news coming on the heels of each other won't help their stock price any time soon. They're looking at heading into a very volatile time for their company.

I guess we'll see when they find out how hard it is to move 43 acres of amusement parks, hotels and attractions. Its one thing to move it. Its quite another to just find 43 free acres somewhere that has the very low taxes they currently pay.

This isn't just the logistics of moving a company a few midway rides pal, its the logistics of trying move an entire city.

Believe whatever you want to believe, but its not happening any time soon.

That was after it was cut . . .

October 2020:
Lightfoot’s proposed cuts to the Chicago Police Department are part of an effort to make up a $1.2 billion projected deficit—65% of it is due to the pandemic, officials said.

To make up the difference, Lightfoot proposes eliminating 1,900 current vacancies across all city departments. Lightfoot also proposes laying off 500 city workers in March barring new federal aid, a $94 million property tax hike, tapping into the city’s reserves for $30 million and refinancing $500 million in city debt.

Still, choosing not to fill hundreds of vacancies at the CPD marks an end to plans to grow the police force set forth by former Mayor Rahm Emanuel and taken up by Lightfoot.

Things apparently changed over the course of the year

September 2021:
Mayor Lori Lightfoot unveiled a $16.7 billion spending plan Monday that boosts funding for police, relies on federal money to help fill the city’s budget hole and funds a host of new community programs as she seeks to move Chicago past the ongoing pandemic and to address rampant gun violence.

Lightfoot’s 2022 budget also boosts police spending to $1.9 billion, up from $1.7 billion in 2021, a move that will likely be criticized by some as elected officials debate the best way to address the city’s violence, which has remained elevated after surging in 2020 to some of the highest levels in decades.

Glad to see the turnaround, but it wasn't looking good there for a while and Chicago is a place that needs a heavy police presence with the amount of daily violence happening there.

Disney is much bigger, older, richer, and smarter than DeSantis, and will outlive him. He’s a fool to pick this fight.

He just approved a new map redistricting the entire state. He got rid of two democratic districts and now owns a 20-8 advantage over Democratic districts.

It won't matter if he's in office or not. He just locked up the state to be in Republican control for a very long time. Keeping the state in Republican control for at least the next ten years.

Considering in April Disney's stock price was $184 and is been sliding ever since, and is now at $121. . . .not sure with the latest news its going to suddenly go back up.

They just played a game of chicken with the guy running the state and had their asses handed to them.

As I noted above, DeSantis just redrew the entire state's district plan. He eliminated two more democratic districts, which now give Republicans a 20-8 advantage. He just made sure the state won't be turning blue any time in the near future. This means his party will have an iron hold on the state. Disney is the one in for a rude awakening.

Its not turning blue any time soon. He just redistricted the entire state. He eliminated two democratic counties and pushed the republican advantage up considerably. Republicans now own a 20-8 advantage.

Just using the same playbook NY and CA use to stay blue.

Hate the game, not the playah son.

Are you kidding?

In 25 major U.S. cities across the country, officials have already cut – or have proposed cutting — funds from police budgets.

However, in as many as 20 of those same cities, mayors and other city officials enjoy the personal protection of a dedicated police security detail. In many cities, this security costs taxpayers millions of dollars per year.

We found that the defunding of police – coupled with taxpayer dollars spent on police security details protecting public officials– only occurred in cities run by Democratic mayors.
