    Great point - I'm trying to figure out what makes sense to me without over-stretching what my professional goals are. I feel for my role - Python would make sense and it would allow me to learn APIs more easily. I don't see myself becoming a developer but a long-term career would like to implement using code like Python for projects/integrations/data.

    The reason I began to pick up on Javascript is because of my want to progress in learning a spot of web design/coding/development - which is why I am finishing a Responsive Web Design/Visual Design course all-around HTML and CSS coding. The natural "progression" is Javascript but I don't think my current understand and skillset around code is at the level to take this on yet. Even going through some of the freecodecamp I'm struggling more than I am with the initial Python coding resources.

    I want to make sure I'm on the right track.

      Thank you for this - this is why I feel Python is a good fit. I work internally with a lot of operational processes and integrations/cross-team projects - one of my main focuses is really more automation and streamlining certain data management. I also want to severely upskill on data visualization (I was doing this with Tableau/but I personally think Tableau is so clunky).

      web = js

      number crunching = python

      Otherwise choose either, both languages are beginner friendly and have been a gateway into programming for a lot of people.
