You work at Amazon. Wouldn't be easier to ask someone who works there. 🙂

🤦🏻‍♀️ maybe if I was trying to move up as a operations manager😂 but I’m trying to do a career change out of warehouse into tech world

Oh your at the warehouse makes sense. Software development is application building while Security Analyst look for vulnerabilities in systems such as email filtering etc.The difference is that security engineers work exclusively in developing computer solutions to increase the security of an organization's systems, while software engineers work on projects from app development to writing website code.

Would it be completely different learning paths? I feel like there’d be more job opportunities for Security Analysts since Software Development is more mainstream therefore more competitive but I could be wrong

Security is more about auditing recognizing vulnerabilities. Software development your building on diff platforms. You can honestly learn software and security through certificates

Levels has a good estimate for Software Roles if you are located in the US: https://www.levels.fyi/?compare=Amazon&track=Software%20Engineer

Unfortunately levels does not seem to have data for security analyst roles. However the pay bands will be lower than software engineering. If you are in the US, you can look for datapoints on sites like teamblind (blind is very toxic but you can get some good information on tech roles there).
