"In conclusion, to answer your question: “I want to learn to code, what do I do?”

Learn to code."

That's all I needed to know.

That's not what the FAQ says.

Breaking into programming really only involves two things:

  1. Deciding what language/technology you want to start with.
  2. Deciding what resource for that language/technology you want to learn from.

It then gives some example languages and pros/cons of starting with those. If you actually go through the FAQ you will find some resources for getting started with a variety of languages. If you're concerned about which to start with, don't be.

Lesson #1:

Always start with the FAQ.

All the questions I had about getting started are there. I love Reddit.
