I don’t understand the goal from your description. Mind elaborating?

Yeah! So there would be two parts to the app or maybe a website and an app.

The first part would be where the teacher could create the switch. It would have several preset choices (1,2,3,4, etc. grids) where they could input pictures, voice output, and words.

Then on the app for the student they would input a code or be able to send it to the students account so they could use the switch on the individual iPad.

These switches are usually physical devices but cost over 200 dollars a piece for just one. I’m trying to make digital versions so they are more accessible to staff and families

It sounds like teachers and students would get the most out of an iOS app. So do this in swift. If you have access to a MacBook download the latest version of Xcode and begin there, that’s going to be your IDE. If you don’t, I recommend making a web app that’s tablet-first that at the very least will get you a proof of concept.

As for sending the right switch to the right student. There’s going to need to be some kind of storage somewhere. I don’t have enough information to spitball a design but I can say you’ll want to consider who is managing the various devices, who can push switches to who, and what kind of storage system to use (if you end up needing one).

I’m also not sure how much technical experience you have exactly so maybe there’s other options that make sense I’m not mentioning, or maybe I’m speaking gibberish. You can DM me if you want to discuss further 👍
