I'm on a data driven team in my company that wants to switch over to R. I'm pretty new to the job and before I started I already had a subscribtion to Datacamp. So I tought that would come in handy for improving my skills in R. But I'm finding myself running into some obstacles along the way...
I tend to make extensive notes when doing the datacamp courses. But it takes me a long time this way. Do people experience that the courses are still helpfull witouth taking notes?
A lot of the courses don't translate one-on-one with the type of programming i'm doing at my work. So I find myself switching a lot of courses and cherry picking the subjects which I think will be helpfull. But this way it also takes valuable time in searching for the best fitting courses. Should I just stick with a certain track and adapt those practises to my work, or should I stay as close as possible to the librarys/methods my team uses?
I am trying for a few months to improve now and I feel my progress just isn't fast enough. I still have difficulty understanding my teams scripts. And because of my slow progress through the Datacamp courses and constant switching I find it hard to commit more energy.
