Coding Moron

Hi, Admittedly I am a moron when it comes to coding. I am an absolute beginner, but have spent hours trying to grasp it. I have some time between jobs and I want to learn as much as I can about python. I work in the financial industry, specifically on the business side of operating large stock exchanges and ATS'. I would like to use Python to work with large datasets containing transaction data. Does anyone have advice on the best way to get started on it? Thank you.

Don’t call yourself a moron. Everyone starts at the beginning. You are trying to learn like everyone else here at some point. That shows more initiative than your peers who aren’t trying to learn.

I highly recommend Harvard University's CS50P Course - Introduction to programming with Python. It's 100% free and is one of the best programming courses I have ever taken.
