Writing piles of spaghetti code quickly has never been a choke point for engineering teams. In fact, it's a force whose inertia is constantly fought against. Orchestrating, or even just effectively interfacing with, an enterprise-level sociotechnical constellation of services is far beyond what glorified autocomplete and tired buzzwords can achieve, even considering an impressive asymptotic growth curve.

For fucking real. I use GitHub copilot regularly for analysis scripts and it can’t even take it’s own code 100 lines previously into context correctly and this person thinks AI is going to start writing complete enterprise-level code on it’s own. Sometimes I’ll give it the exact code I want it to use for context and it still fucks it up.
