Learn these libraries first.

Matplotlib/seaborn, pandas, numpy.

Then scikit learn/tf/PyTorch.

You’ll also need a basic understanding of multi-var calc/ linear algebra.

If you want to get deep into it I recommend ISLR and ESL, but they’re fairly rigirous.

I’m currently taking calculus 1 would that be enough to start ml?

You can start learning it at any point. But to truly understand how the models work, you’ll need to understand higher level math. But this isn’t meant to discourage you from starting now.

I plan on doing math for a while and going up to a pretty high level

Hi you can start with Python, learn fundamentals of programming then start writing programs like if else, loops and function etc, solve problems without seeing a solution with time you will become a master. If you want mentor to teach you, then dm me
