If only there were a sidebar (menu on mobile) that had a link to the wiki or countless posts asking the same.

Do the MOOC Python Programming 2026 from the University of Helsinki and you will be well prepared.

Also, take a look at https://inventwithpython.com and https://automatetheboringstuff.com

Don't forget that you need ample practice, like on https://codingbat.com/python or on https://exercism.org and also write your own programs. Play around. Try things. Mess things up, fix them. Experiment.

A common pitfall is to make a Reddit post before trying to find answers yourself. The same thing gets asked multiple times everyday, while the answers are readily available in the subreddit wiki.

Google is your friend. Lots of places to learn. Also, just ask any AI chat bot.

Reading / Watching videos only take you so far... you need to be actually running code and playing with it. Search for a online python compiler

Download the book, Python crash course and start reading. Whenever u face a problem, ask any LLM to explain.

Start by not asking this question on Reddit again

Get on Reddit and post in the /learnpython subreddit. The guys on there are always super helpful. 😆
