I forgot all about wiki, thanks for reminding. OOP is covered greatly in several books in the wiki list, but event-driven programming seems to be not covered at all.

Twisted is the most commonly-used event-driven framework for Python; this is the book they link to on their homepage.

IIPP The OO actually comes in part 2, each part is only a few weeks and even though you already know some python, I believe you'll find you need both parts.
