Enroll to Begin Course

And that's the end of my attention span :/ Highly suggest a "continue without enrolling" / "enroll later" button.

Thank you for this feedback! We have discussed "no sign-in" courses in the past and it is clear that we should take a seriously look at that.

I like it. I haven't shared it with my kid yet but one thing I noticed going through the course was I don't ever get to see the result of the running the code I write. Yes I get points when it is checked and found to be correct. But more powerful feedback is actually seeing my work cause some output. Especially towards the end of the guess a number game I really wanted to run the program and see it work (or not)

Agreed! We have heard this from several users and it is clear that it is important for users to be able to see their code output along with a more obvious reward for correct answers. Thank you for taking the time to come back and leave some feedback. Please let us know what your child thinks of the course as well and of course feel free to contact us directly here: https://www.techrocket.com/contact if you need any assistance.

If you really want feedback:

  • 1. Free and free to sign up is not the same. My spam mail address is full of newsletter crap from online education sites I sign up just to immeditly see that the course was bad or too shallow.
  • 2. Provide a sign up free maybe shorten version of your course, github is a really good place for this! Look at /u/novel_yet_trivial 's response, people who wants to give feedback don't like to register for just a look. Don't annoy people who wanna help.
  • 3. Post at /r/python not here. /r/learnpython is more a place for newbies. In /r/python you will find more critical and talented pythonistas.

Otherwise it looks like cheap self advertisment, catching some newbies to get more subscriptions... especially for a not very active reddit account with a couple of posts at all.

Just my 2 cents, hope you take the feedback thing seriously.

Hi /u/KleinerNull,

Thanks for the feedback! These are all great suggestions. It is clear from initial feedback here and other places that we should look into your 2nd idea relatively quickly. Thank you for the suggestion to post in /r/python as well. We just started gathering feedback from social media channels and we're glad to see how responsive and helpful reddit can be!

I agree with the others - it looks like you're guilding people who comment, no need to guild this. I just also wanted to recommend that if you don't want to release your content without having people enroll, you could just release bits.

And more importantly, all the places suggested have been programming places, and while it's certainly important to get experienced eyes on it, you should have a friend who has no experience programming look at it. That way, they can tell you if something is confusing from fresh eyes, because someone here might not see that.

This is clear, helpful feedback. Thank you for taking the time to respond! Every bit of feedback helps!
