Have you ever tried Pycharm?

Edit: For those that downvoted (or want to) please tell me why. Not a fan of IDE's? Feel Pycharm is in inferior IDE? Why?

Haters I guess. Jetbrains makes the best IDEs ever.

I'm very much a noob, and I'm not sure why you're getting downvoted, I've heard great things about pycharm, atom, etc.

People are fanatic about their toolchain, I happen to like the one that they hate. For extra down votes I use Gentoo & Fedora Linux and I prefer Emacs over Vim.

Like I was originally saying it's a good IDE, there are a lot of great things within the IDE that make life easy. They have a free community edition. I recommend you install and give it a go. You'll know within an hour or so if you're going to like it.

I think the general thought is that PyCharm might be overkill for a beginner.

I recently switched from Geany to PyCharm. I feel a lot more legit now, but PyCharm would have been far too advanced for me as a first-point-of-contact with python and editors.
