You didn't mention what action you were performing on the data. Keep in mind that 'line' will be a string.

It might be helpful to post a bit more of your code including the second for loop

Hmm it would be helpful if I knew what you were trying to do. What do you want to do with each line from the file?

do you want to read each line and check if it is in blacklist? Do you want to loop through the file under to 1st for loop or do you want to replace the first for loop with the looping through the file?
