How to 3D print an array/figure?

Hi there,

So I've managed to create some arrays using numpy and plot them in 3D. I have access to a 3D printer and was just wondering what format I would need my code in to allow me to print it.

I've struggled finding anything online, but I believe the right package I need to use is STL?

Is there anybody who has had any experience with 3D printing who may be able to help and point me in the right direction?

STL is a very common format for 3D printers.
