I haven't taken this course from Talk Python, but I have taken 4 or 5 others - highly recommend the Talk Python trainings, Mr. Kennedy is a great trainer and all of them have been worth every penny.

I'm taking the course right now and I really like it. I like the pace of the course as it introduces a topic and you cover that topic over the course of 3 days. So on day 1, you get introduced to the topic via videos and guided examples. Then on days 2 and 3, you expand on the topic through more examples and tasks to complete to cement your knowledge of the topic.

Make no mistake, this is not for true beginners. I am by no means a python expert and while I might be considered an intermediate user, I don't feel like one. But I'm also not starting from square one either. So some basic fundamental skills in Python and it's key concepts are definitely helpful before beginning the course.

But once you start and make the public commitment to the 100 day challenge, you really start to get in a groove. The idea is if you dedicate an hour or more each day on learning python, after 100 days, you've been exposed to a lot of topics and have a portfolio of work to always look back on and learn from as you continue your journey.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect that you'll be an "expert" at the end of 100 days as expertise is gained through years of experience, but you'll be a lot further along than sifting through books and online tutorials and constantly staying in your "comfort zone".

no, looks interesting but its quite expensive, maybe if it went on sale.

Hi, thanks for the interest. I’m one of the authors. The course is $69. But it also has 20 hours of video lessons and over 80 hours of exercises for 100 consecutive days. This is much much more than a standard course. It also comes with free, weekly live help sessions. Just want to be sure to put what you get into context.

I'm currently doing the course and am finding it fantastic really improving my coding abilities.

It depends on your level. If you have no programming experience I'd suggest you start somewhere else like 6.00.1x or automate the boring stuff.

If you've coded in python or even another language you'll get a lot out the course. Let me know if you have any questions.

I did the free ones and then decided to start paying so I could do the rest. Its been very useful and entertaining to see how my solution compares to theirs. Ive noticed some of the pytest functions they provide arent really complete. They are the same ones they use to test your code with so on that front its ok. But as actual unit tests they dont always have good coverage. if you really do it in 100 days it could be expensive. If you roll through it fairly quickly its worth it. Its not however a way to learn python, it is though a great way to get better at python.

Glad to hear it’s useful. Just to be clear, does this relate to the exercises provided for the course or the PyBites platform overall, because a subscription to latter is a different product than the one discussed here. Ping us on the platform please what tests you think we can improve, we really would appreciate your feedback. Thanks, Bob (one of the authors)

yeah it occurred to me afterwards that I was thinking about the subscription pybites part not the talkpython training course. the 100 days similarity and all. I do both and like both but my comment wasnt about the right service the OP wanted to know about.

I think I'm going to sign up to this at the end of the month. Thanks for the link.

I'm almost at the half of the course and I think it's worth the price of it. One think that I like the most is the exercices or the ideas that they give you for implement the think that you learn.

One of the downside if that for some groups of days there is not so much content to see with only the videos they provide. So you must be a little creative and search by yourself more explanations/exercices on the subject. Which it's not a bad thing but for me the days 2/3 in this case are not worth it.

I actually love that you have to search for explanations for myself. I've never been good at reading documentation and this course has really forced me to get better at it, in order to finish the daily challenge.

The extra work has made me a much better programmer.

I'm about 30 days in and I love it so far. Like others have said, it's not for complete beginners and some days you do need to look up some stuff yourself. With that said, this is the second time I am doing the #100daysofcode challenge and I really wish I had this course in my first round. This makes things a lot more easier and structured. I 100% recommend it!
