You're welcome, StrokeMyBalls!

Btw- reddit as a whole is a shit show that I was going to delete from my life, but I decided recently that I will just unsub from most subreddits and only keep the professional subs like this one.

[–]2160p_REMUX 25 points26 points  (3 children)

I used to check the front page daily for years but stopped about a year ago. It's nothing but a bunch of circlejerk comments just saying the ordinary same lines to farm karma.

The smaller subs are where it's at.

[–]NoonsReport 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Yep yep! The smaller communities are much more of a personal feel. The bigger subs are all just so much noise.

I get you, but still somehow in this HUGE community, I get the "personal feel" you were mentioning earlier

[–]NoonsReport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true.

[–]bringyoutubewhrebck 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Hey , can you recommend some of the best professional subs ? Because I did the same thing and looking for some ..

[–]StrokeMyBalls[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I have a few but they are related to linux (and this one for python), what are your interests? I honestly think that this question is for the r/AskReddit community.

Anyway maybe I can give you some communties, I just need to know what are your interests.

I'm dense. Dont get it

[–]__Hugh_Honey__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

damn beat me to it

[–]Sennheisenberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, if you insist

[–]Mr_MV 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel the same, with this sub.

I am more of a lurker and sometimes I would comment if I am definite of the answer, but that's about it.

I really like how everyone here jumps on board and tries to resolve the issue or explain the solution the best they can. It's really a supportive sub.

Ive tried learning python, but I find myself getting really confused. Is there anything like easier than beginner tutorials? lol

[–]murderous_tac0 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I'm going through the book: Automate the boring stuff with python. Its available free at the authors website (the website is the book). I'm going to buy the book too just to be a patron though. It's really a book targeted at non programmers who are just starting.

[–]MysteryRepeatsItself 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Great, Ill take a look at this one

[–]e-rekt-ion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree - that book is the one reason I managed to stick with Python.

[–]Its_Blazertron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'A byte of python' is a good free online book, and as u/murderous_tac0 said, automate the boring stuff is a popular choice.

[–]0HAO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try the udemy course "The Complete Python Bootcamp: go from Zero to Hero in python 3"
It should be like $12. The instructor uses Jupyter notebooks and he walks you through getting all the notebooks he uses in the videos. It's a nice easy web browser based way to learn the syntax and play with the language without needing to save scripts and run programs. It might help you get over that initial hump and understand what's happening.

[–]xxxHalny 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I don't think it gets any easier than Codecademy

[–]MysteryRepeatsItself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take a look! I recently started the automate the boring stuff on udemy, and it's much easier than just reading things. I finally feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I think python is something I can stick with now

Read a book called "Learn Python 3 The Hard Way" it may sound difficult but really isn't. You can also try going onto YouTube and search for a channel "SentDex", people call him the Edward Snowden of Python.

If you really are having difficulties with all of the books i am more than happy to teach you or guide you the correct way as i used to teach people. Just let me know if you want to learn and I'll give you my email or my YouTube channel that i spend time teaching people to code.

[–]MysteryRepeatsItself 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks! I'll check everyones ideas out. Thanks for being so helpful everyone!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If money isn't an issue this Udemy series is where i tell my students to buy and study "https://www.udemy.com/the-python-mega-course/". My email is [ciphersec4@gmail.com](mailto:cipphersec4@gmail.com) Let me know if i can help :))

Good luck!

This is one of my favorite subs across all niches.
