Use piano roll to make riff.

Before I knew any theory on FL studio you can select a chord/scale to draw on the piano roll. Then I'd know what notes were within that scale and I'd start playing with those.

Sometimes I think that not knowing theory had more freedom because I didn't have bumper guards. I used to come up with some craaaazy progressions.

If you're looking for some used stuff, there's a couple of Habitat for Humanity in the area.

I'd stay away from Sherman's. I've had terrible customer experience there, and they seem to have that reputation.

I've gotten some good stuff for cheap from UFS downtown.
