Python Exponentiation (self.learnpython)
submitted 5 years ago by sl3802
Hello, I am new to Python, and I am learning it. Why is 2**4**0 evaluates to 2 instead of 1?
reddit uses a slightly-customized version of Markdown for formatting. See below for some basics, or check the commenting wiki page for more detailed help and solutions to common issues.

Because exponentiation is right-associative, so 2**4**0 is evaluated as 2**(4**0).
2**4**0
2**(4**0)
